visionshift in the city

Having run 3 successful VisionShift events over the last 2.5years at Peterborough Prison I decided that it was ready to take this event to the next level – further to numerous meetings with Peterborough City Council we have found a way we can make it work in the city for people 16-25 years old who may not be the ‘dream candidates’ due to lower grades and not achieving as much as hoped at school due to the school setting for example.

Here is a brief of the event to wet your appetite – there will be more details to follow soon and of course I will be telling you all about it at every opportunity!

More than 50 employers will be invited to meet with young people from across the city who are not in employment, education or training (NEET). Every NEET young person in Peterborough aged 16-19 will be invited by the City Council’s NEET team along with older young people with a variety of different barriers to achieving their potential.

Support will be invited from TWIP, the YOS, local hostels, Job Centre Plus, the Virtual School, the Leaving Care Teams, the Skills Service and others.

Success will be measured by the number of young people attending the event and their comments which will be gathered on feed-back forms to be completed as they exit the event. Completion of the feedback form will entitle them to be entered in a draw for a shopping voucher prize.
