Creative Content Company Go Networking in Peterborough - Creative Content Company

Posted by Hazel Cottrell | January 24, 2014 | General News

As a Peterborough based business we often get out and about and pop along to networking events in Peterborough. When the Creative Content Company was started up by Hazel funds were low so she was out looking for cheap / free networking events. She also wanted an event that was enjoyable; networking should never be a chore but a place to meet like minded people for sharing tips, advice and maybe even business!

In this article Hazel has put together a list of her four favourite networking events;

Link4Growth is an excellent networking group that takes place all over the United Kingdom. There are around 10 networking locations near Peterborough including coffee mornings, evening drinks and training sessions too. The coffee mornings are around £2 and you get unlimited coffee or tea for that. There are usually around 15 people (minimum) and you all stand around chatting and getting to know each other. Everyone is welcome so you meet great people. You can join to be a member too; this is £3 a month and gets you into the member forum, a name badge and other great things! For more details search Link4Growth on Eventbrite, Google or Facebook or look for Chris Ogle on Twitter!

St Neots Business Community Club is every two weeks on a Tuesday morning. It’s in a little cafe and has between 6 and 20 attendees roughly. Everyone is really friendly and again there is a real mix of attendees. You pay for your own drinks or food and there is no cost for the networking. Have a look for St Neots Business Community Club on Facebook or look for Chris Hornby on Twitter. It’s a little bit out from Peterborough but well worth attending.

Peterborough Does Business is a monthly evening event, completely free of charge and they have free food too (from Chef de la Maison) and free hot drinks too. This is a slightly different networking event with more of a structure. You go along to mingle and network for a bit, then the delicious food comes out, then you go through and grab a table and network with those on your table before a community spot where a local charity or group give a little talk. You then do some one-to-one networking with another person in the room before listening to a really worthwhile talk from a professional. They’ve had all sorts of talks in the last few months and they’ve been really worthwhile. Have a look for these guys on Google, Facebook, Twitter and anywhere else – they’re all over the place! The event takes place at Eco Innovation Centre in Peterborough.

CambsHourDay – this day began from a local twitter hour and has now turned into a fantastic day organised by Ed Goodman and his superb team. Again, this is a free event with tea, coffee and biscuits (chocolate ones if you’re lucky!). You book onto the day through Meet Up and there will usually be around 5 talks on the day that you can book onto and a networking lunch too where you can get to know everyone. The talks are really good and you’ll go away from the day having learnt loads and met new contacts too. Again, it’s a trek from Peterborough but so worth it!

Do  you have any networking events that you go to and really enjoy?

Pop by one of the above and keep your eye out for Hazel or one of the Creative Content Company Team.
